These make me laugh. They are so cute, and so easy to make.
Finding the acorns can be the hardest part!
Make them for friends, for present decorations, for Christmas trees, for no reason.
Hang and tuck them in little places all over your house.

Supplies needed: Acorns
Drill and bits, 1/6", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4" and 17/64"
Glue
Sharp crew or nail (one)
Craft hammer
Crochet hook, tweezers
Tiny twigs
1" eyehead jewerly pin
Instructions:

Use your nail to punch a slight starting hole with your hand or hammer
on the acorn at the center of where you want the large opening.
With the 3/16" drill, gently drill the hole.
Switch to one step larger drill, increase the hole, repeat.
Depending on the size of the acorn, the last drill can be 1/4" or 17/64"

Drilling too large a bit at first can crack the acorn
Moving the bit in and out of the acorn after the hole is drilled helps to remove the innards

Clean the acorn as best you can, crochet hook and tweezers are handy.
Drilling into any remaining hard chunks with a tiny bit works, too
.

Glue the top on

Poke another hole with your nail below the large hole with your hand or hammer
for the center of where you want the perch.
With the 1/16" drill, gently drill the hole.
Insert a short stick with glue.

With the 1/16" bit, make a hole at the top of the cap, just in front of the stem if there is one.
Insert the eyehead pin with glue
Let dry.
